It was with great pleasure I got to see for the first time the Derby installation at Optus Oval. Quotes from the book David Whish-Wilson and I wrote and that was published in early 2017 were used to explain what the Derby means to Western Australians and the importance to the historical landscape when it comes to football in WA.
The install for the permanent collection came about when Ross Chadwick contacted me from the Western Australian Museum. He explained what he wanted to do and how extracts from the book would compliment the visual representation of the panel. Located on the first tier outside the Locker Room bar it is well worth a visit.
